BABY BUMP_24 WEEKS

Late again.  I can’t seem to keep up with this blog…or life for that matter.  It is all flying by so fast.  I can’t believe I am going on 24 weeks already in this pregnancy! I was talking to my mom the other day about how I couldn’t believe it has already been 6 months, and she reminded me that not every month has 4 weeks in it (duh Kelli).  So no, 24 weeks does not mean 6 months, as I had thought.  However, it is very close! No wonder everyone counts by weeks.  I think only the right (creative) side of my brain works.  Numbers and me just don’t mesh.  Anyway….24 week bump.  There you have it.  It’s really coming along now.  I still have yet to get a comment from a stranger, but I will be happy when that day comes!

SOOO….I am kind of getting to the point where I have to stop just looking at cute baby clothes and nursery ideas and actually START the process of educating myself and figuring out what I really need.  It’s all just kind of overwhelming to me.  I need to do some serious research on all the “gear”, as I don’t know what the half of it is used for.  Despite having a sister with two babies, I feel very naive to this whole process and am not sure where to start.  I know my sis will help me with the registry process…which I should actually get going on in the next few weeks.  I don’t think I want a shower too late in my pregnancy.  I like the idea of having it a little early and then having time afterward to prepare and get all the things that were not gifted, that I might need.  Anyway, there is SO much to do!  Phase one of the nursery will be started next week with installing wood floors.  Thanks to my handy man husband.   OHHH…speaking of handy man husband, did I mention that I bought a crib off craigslist for $25!!? True story!  I know it sounds sketchy, but the crib is AMAZING!!  It is super old and vintage looking and wonderfully unique.  It just needs a coat of fresh paint and some sturying up and I think it will be just perfect.  Sure does beat my other, ridiculously expensive, versions I was hoping for.  Like THIS one…and THIS one.  I will have to do a before and after post to show you how it turns out! I’m getting so antsy to get started on it all!  If anyone has any good advice for an overwhelmed momma-to-be…please share! I could use all the help I can get.

Baby girl at 24 weeks.  One foot long and just over one pound. About the size of an ear of corn.

I hear you about the numbers thing – I am useless with them.

Also, I’m so excited to see what you do with that crib!!

Aw must be so exciting :-)

Hope your decorating goes well. I’m not pregnant but I have to drag myself away from baby shoes in the shops, they’re so cute I could eat them up!

    Not long to go now!
Decorating the nursey and buying baby clothes must be so exciting, I can’t wait to see the before and after of the crib. A friend of mine is due next week and I was out buying baby clothes they are sooo cute I was in the shop for hours I could have spent a fortune (think I have found another shopping addiction!) xxx
