I know what you are thinking….”Isn’t it a little strange to design your own baby shower invitation?”  Well, yes, I would normally say it kind of is. BUT…if you know me at all, you know that designing invitations is one of my favorite things to do….EVER….so regardless of it being kind of odd, I just HAD to!  Forgive me

My sisters and I had a hard time landing on a “theme” for the shower, so we decided to just start with a color palate of shades of pink, coral and grey.  And since “baby bunny” was a recurring phrase in my head….we decided to go that route, pairing it with sweet & simple florals.  I decided to go with 2 separate cards for the invitation.  One being the main 5X7 card with details and RSVP info, and the other a smaller scalloped registry card stating the places I was registered. A friend gave me the idea of asking guests to bring a pack of diapers in order to enter a raffle to win a piece of my art.  (Best idea ever!) Rylee is set in the diaper department for a few months.

All the paper goods I bought at Paper Source.  Envelopes in Papaya with a decorative paper liner.  Main Invitation and Scalloped Registry Card in Soft White.  And for printing, my tiny little printer at home worked like a charm.

Just a few more photos from the day of my baby shower.  So glad Erica was there to snap these!  I still really want to get a few with Sam right before I POP!  But with expenses at an all time high....I think we might have to sacrifice my much hoped for "professional" maternity shoot and head down to the beach with our own camera and sister for the day!  I guess I will be happy with anything!  And if all else fails....at least I am in love with these pics from Erica!  I am SO ready to meet my little girl.

What a special day! My baby shower kind of felt like my bridal shower all over again….only  2 years later and celebrating a whole new chapter in my life! My mom and sisters planned out the whole day for me and I must say, they really out did themselves!  The food & desserts, the decoration & detail, the people who filled the room!! It is just what I wanted.  There was so much love surrounding me and so many people encouraging me in this journey.  Days like this I can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of thankfulness for the people in my life.  Rylee is going to be one loved baby girl.

I couldn’t help but contribute to the “stationary” for the shower, as that is what I live for! Not entirely, but I refused to pass up the opportunity to create a cute baby invite, especially when it was my own baby we were talking about!  I’ll post more on the invite later….but I created matching game sheets, food labels and raffle cards to go along with the “baby bunny” theme.  And my sister printed out tiny little round labels with the bunny illustration to put on all the pink cupcakes! So cute.  And those mason jars tied with vintage floral ribbon!?? LOVE.  That was all my mom!

Lunch was my favorite! Crackers with brie and apricots, walnut chicken salad on croissants, berry spinach salad, and fresh fruit. YUM!!  I could eat this every day and be happy!

Everyone who brought a pack of diapers to the shower got their name entered in a raffle to win one of my prints.  THIS PRINT in fact. My friend Anna won.  SO fitting because she just had a baby girl herself and she already has it up in the nursery! Yay!

Rylee has quite the wardrobe started already! She definitely has more shoes than her dad, however she has not surpassed her mom yet …..YET!

The weekend is almost here!! I can’t tell you how excited I get for weekends to come around now!  Mostly because it means I am one week closer to meeting Rylee, but also because it means I can RELAX and not work.  I think I am finally getting to the point where I am a little uncomfortable and unmotivated there.  All I want to do is finish her nursery and buy her all the things I still have left on my checklist.  Which is another reason why weekends are awesome….because I can actually think about those things!

Sam and I got to see Rylee one last time this morning (at my last ultrasound appointment) before her delivery! Again, she is proving everyone wrong and is right on track in growth…measuring in at about 6 pounds already!! I was so shocked when the doctor told me she was that big! I was expecting 5 or a little less right now.  I guess that just means I’ll have a big baby (or bigger than I thought I would have)….OR she could come early! Who knows! I am just so happy she is chunking up!  From the looks of the pictures,  she has mommy’s nose and daddy’s lips!  And in other news, I just got a disk full of pictures from my sweet friend Erica that she took at my baby shower! I am going to riffle through them and will post some soon!
