HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE ONE
Rylee’s Romper & Moccasins // Headband DIY // My Dress & Moccasins // Patchwork Quilt // Straws // Favor Bags // Feathers // Teepee Tutorial
Ahhh finally getting around to posting some pictures from the party! We just got back from a short trip to Vegas and it’s 2:15 and I am finally getting caught up on emails and photo editing! Ayiyi! Trips are so great until you get home and realize how much you have to get caught up on. Hence the 3:00 bedtime I’m headed for tonight. I’d like to think those getaways are still worth the work jam though! Anyway, these are some of my favorite pics from Rylee’s birthday party last week. Thank you Stone Crandall for hijacking my camera and helping me document this day! You can see the rest of the photos on my facebook page.
We had so much fun celebrating Rylee’s first birthday with friends and family! I was pleasantly surprised that almost all the little ones found a headband that fit (there was a lot of measurement guessing going on the days prior!) It was pretty cute to see all of them running around in their feathers and enjoying the tent/teepees Sam built. We found this simple tutorial by Rubyellen of the blog Cakies, and I created some hand painted tent covers that I’ll show you how to make in the next post. For the cupcake toppers, all the credit goes to Ez of Creature Comforts…..that gal is always inspiring me! I had remembered this tutorial from a long time ago and knew the arrow cupcake toppers would fit perfect with my theme. We also had a mini 4″ cake with a DIY paper feather topper…but I am saving that one for another post too! Sorry for the onslaught of party posts to come, but I did too much not to share! I’m kind of sad it’s all over. But so glad I have so many memories from Ry’s big day.
Speaking of big day. Today, I can officially say that Rylee is “walking”. No more one, two steps…..more like 10, 11, 12. Which is terrifying and exciting all at the same time! I thought this day would come months ago, but I guess she was waiting until one to really show off. I caught her on camera earlier today.
Happy weekend!

So sweet. And I, for one, am looking forward to the onslaught of party posts so I can also learn how you made the headbands, the tent covers, the cake topper…
Simply genius.
BTW: I love that Rylee got “The Dot” for her birthday. I love Peter H. Reynolds! If you don’t have it already, I highly recommend Reynolds’ “Ish,” too. (http://www.amazon.com/Ish-Peter-H-Reynolds/dp/076362344X)

Hi, I happened upon this amazing little party on your blog. My daughter is having an indian themed party as well. I L-O-V-E the invitations. Were they handmade or ordered?
I’d appreciate direction!!

I believe everything said was very reasonable. But, what about this?
what if you added a little content? I mean, I don’t wish to tell you how to run your blog, but suppose you added a post title to maybe get people’s attention?
I mean Kelli Murray’s Blog ? Blog Archive ? HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE ONE is a little plain. You could look at Yahoo’s home page and note how they create news titles to
get people interested. You might add a related video
or a related picture or two to get readers excited about what
you’ve got to say. Just my opinion, it would bring your posts a little livelier.
Look into my site – baby girl indian names

Tonight I was just talking to my friend about how adorable a native american theme (with teepees!) party would be for my daughter’s first birthday after she and I discussed trying to make them for our littles earlier this week. I went to pinterest for inspiration and came across your gorgeous blog! Such a beautiful celebration!
