SEA BREEZE
Saturday, April 9th, 2011
Quick post today! Sam’s parents are here visiting from Minnesota so we are about to take off and show them around town! I wish the weather was a little bit nicer for them! It has been so cold and windy the last few days! Brrrr! I’m ready for summer.
Anyway…I can’t seem to get enough of neutrals these days. Loving this muted color palate with just a splash of plum.

Hope you all have the loveliest of weekends!

THE WHY WE LOVE
Wednesday, April 6th, 2011A few months ago I got the opportunity two work with an incredible husband/wife photography team on the re-branding of their growing photography business – THE WHY WE LOVE. I created the logo above as well as a cute little illustration of the couple holding their favorite cameras! Like me, they like the oldies (but goodies).
Can you say, TALENT!? Yes, these two are quite the rockstars. Their work is incredible and creative and full of life. Their photos really have a way of making you “feel”, if you know what I mean. Emotion is not always the easiest thing to capture, but they seem to do it effortlessly. Take a look for yourself!
Today, their work is featured on GREEN WEDDING SHOES – See their sweet elopement shoot, A Magical Elopement in the Woods. I can’t wait to see what these two come up with next!

HOPE IN CHANGE
Sunday, March 6th, 2011Oh me, oh my! What a week. Life is just full of surprises sometimes isn’t it? Once I feel like I’ve got it all figured out, it throws me a curve ball and makes me realize I’m not in control after all. DANG, I like feeling in control. The last two years have been a whirlwind of change in my life….moving to Encinitas, discovering I have Celiac’s disease, getting married to the love of my life, finding out SURPRISE… I am pregnant, and now, facing some pretty huge changes at work. Work is the place I spend the majority of my time, and the people here are like family to me. Recently loosing a few people who I have worked beside for years…people I love and respect, has been hard, to say the least. And I think it rocked me a little more than I thought it would. But what can I say, I am a ”feeler” (thanks mom!). Sometimes, in the midst of change, its hard to see the good in a situation. But I have to trust that God has his hand in all of this, and that something better is in store for all of us. So, I am keeping faith in that and staying hopeful for the future. Besides, this change might mean a bigger, better opportunity for Sam and I and our growing family. We will see! ( I know i’m not being very descript here, but this is all so fresh and up in the air still).
I choose hope over fear.
In other news…the baby bump has grown a lot this week! I’ll have an update on that soon! But I am listening to the pitter patter of rain outside right now and my husband, a cozy fire, and our last episode of Breaking Bad are waiting for me downstairs! So i’m signing off

STRAWBERRIES N’ CREAM
Tuesday, March 1st, 2011I love this dress by Free People. I think it’s actually supposed to be a top, but I am kind of a shorty, so I just layer it with a slip and wear it as a dress. What is the “average” girl height anyway? I’m 5’4″ and always thought I was average. But I am beginning to think I am on the small side. Anyway… I know it’s a bit of an odd choice to to pair a pretty lace dress with moccasins….but I liked it. I don’t like to be too fancy or too casual. I feel best somewhere right in between.
I hope you all are having a lovely week. The weeks just seem to be flying by right now. I can’t believe I am already almost 15 weeks pregnant! One more week and i’ll be 4 months! I’m still wondering when my belly will finally “pop” and when my nausea will go away. I thought it would have hit the road by now, but no such luck. Thank God for Zofran. It works like a charm.
And for all of you who have asked about how I get my hair so white, I’m having my sister (and hair stylist) Kyleen do a guest post on the process and the products she uses. So stay tuned!
On a random note: I think deep down inside I secretly want to be an indian and live in a teepee and wear my moccasins everyday. I would ride my horses and paint the sunsets and build fires at night to keep warm. Sam would hunt and gather while I would make us clothes out of leather and fur. I’d have a baby wolf named Kitty we’d all sleep under the stars. But then again I don’t think indians wear lace or red lipstick…or drink iced americano’s. Oh the luxuries of life! I suppose I’ll keep my life as I know it. I can’t complain. I’ll just dream of my fancy teepee.
