Pants – Mossimo for Target / Shirt – Forever21 / Shoes – Steve Madden / Watch – Nixon

These here I call my pickle pants.  For no other reason other than because they are green and they make me feel happy.  And so do pickles.  As I was dashing through Target to pick up some much needed baby wipes (yes….bad news when you run out of those) I spotted these emerald beauties gazing at me from across the isle.  I snatched them up without thinking twice.  My rule is that you don’t have to think twice when they are $24! haha.  I tried on some similar pants at Anthropologie, I think they might have been Citzen’s, for close to $200.  I couldn’t bear to hear what Sam would say if I told him how much I spent on pickle green pants….so I resisted.  I guess fate was on my side when I found these the next day!  I am being dramatic, but needless to say I was excited.  Talk about outfit on a budget….shirt for $16 and pants for $24.  Love when that happens.

Ahhh I love these two!  Bam (kitty) is so good with Rylee.  I remember being so worried about how he would react to having a baby join the family (and steal all the attention!)….but I have to say, he has certainly impressed me! It took him some getting used to, but now he loves to be near her.  When she is playing on the floor he loves to snuggle up next to her…he even let’s her try to catch his tail.  It’s the cutest thing.  A few days ago Ry had one of her first major baby milestone’s.  She’s sitting up! She is still a little wobbly but get’s better and better every time she tries.  Lord knows what comes next! I’m not quite ready to see her…..dare I say it….CRAWL! Eek!  How is she already half way to her one year mark!?!  Time goes way too fast.  We went to her 6 months checkup yesterday and found out Rylee is 13 pounds and 25″ long.  She is only in the 6% for weight and the 8% for height.  Teeny tiny little thing!  But healthy as can be.  She has been on a diet of solely breastmilk, but I think it’s time I start introducing some rice cereal. Now if only she could sprout some hair!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend!  It’s a WORK weekend for me! So many loose ends to wrap up.  Daddy’s on duty!

Well,  I would not recommend walking in 5 inch Jeffrey Campbell heels in rocky desert sands.  Risky business!  However, we were on our way to dinner and this stop was unplanned.  You gotta go with the flow, right?!  Driving into Palm Springs was breathtakingly beautiful.  We were listening to M83’s Hurry Up, W’ere Dreaming on the way in and the sounds of that album seemed to match the incredible sundrenched expanse of land that I was looking at out my window.  Pinwheels for days, the bluest sky, and puffy white clouds hovering just above the mountain tops.  It kind of gave me shivers.  God is an amazing creator.  We stopped at a lookout spot to take some photos and they are some of my fav’s….ever.  I melt over the one above of Sam holding Rylee.  It looks like they are on the set of some “Land Before Time” movie or something! haha. Rylee staring as Littlefoot.  Gahhh I love that movie!  I will have to get it for Rylee one day. Anyway….our two day getaway to the desert was perfect.  I threw together this little video of the trip.  Sorry, but it’s pretty much the Rylee show.  I didn’t take as much video as I thought I did…but you get the jest.  Rylee’s first ever vacation and she got to lounge by the pool in her bity suit and sunhat.  What a life.
