Part two of my home tour: the office. (part one here)

Let’s be honest.  A good majority of my time is spent in this little space.  Because I work out of my home, I really wanted to create a work environment that felt set apart.  Somewhere I could focus and feel inspired.  This room was the last on our long list of home improvements (not to say that list will ever really be complete).  It started as a guest room.  Covered with brown carpet and moss green walls. It’s amazing what a coat of white paint and wood floors can do to a room!  Sam ripped out the original closet and built in custom shelving and cabinets for storage.  I love the stark white walls mixed with the industrial details and all of the different wood finishes.  It certainly wasn’t my plan to have such a hodge podge mix of wood finishes, but luckily it all came together pretty nicely!

HELLO CLEOBELLA

Layla Weekender c/o Cleobella  //  FP One Angel Lace Dress //  Boots c/o Wasteland  //  Ring c/o St. Eve Jewelry

Can I just tell you how obsessed I am with my new Cleobella bag?  Really….I love all of their bags.  But this Layla weekender is perfect for me as it doubles as a diaper bag. (love when that happens!)  I paired it with my new favorite Free People dress and Wasteland booties.  I have been wearing those things to death this summer and I have a feeling that trend might continue through fall!

What are you guys up to this weekend!?  Some of you may have heard through the grapevine (aka instagram) that Sam and I are opening up our own retail space here in San Diego called Lone Flag!  It all happened crazy fast.  It’s kind of surreal and a dream come true for us….but our work is just beginning!  I’ll share a whole lot more in a post dedicated to the  new venture….but I just wanted to fill all of you guys in!  Our lives will be nuts the next few months in preparation…but we are soooo excited!   You can follow along with us in our journey to opening (and beyooond!) on instagram! …for now at least.  Thanks for supporting me, my work, my family…..I don’t say it enough, but I really am thankful for this space, the people who come to read every day, and the community it’s become.  Love you guys.

A recent custom invitation I did for a sweet client for her daughter’s second birthday party.  I loved creating this soft, bohemian inspired set!  Children’s invitations continue to be one of  my favorite design projects!

T-shirt and Checked Trousers – Zara  //  Shoes c/o Choies //  Sunglasses c/o Epokhe

My bangs are officially long enough to braid!  6 months in the making.  Funny thing is now that I’ve gotten there, I have the itch to chop them again…but I am resisting! (don’t blame me if tomorrow they are gone!)  With this heat wave still holding on, I am dreaming more and more of the arrival of Fall….pumpkin lattes, brisk walks, scarves and boots.  As much as I love summer, I really love the transition into Fall.  These plaid pants from Zara have fall written all over them, don’t they?  But they are so light weight they hardly even qualify as pants.  More like glorified pajamas.  I guess you could say they are perfect for what we consider Fall here in San Diego.

A few weeks ago our home was featured over on Design Sponge as part of their Sneak Peak column.  Design Sponge has been one of my favorite blogs for a long time now, so I was so honored we were asked to contribute.  Some of you may have already seen the feature, but I thought I’d share more of the photos here on my own blog.  My first ever “home tour” (I know some of you have been asking for this for a while!)  Starting with our living room and kitchen.  More rooms to come!

Big thanks to my friend Jackie Wonders for the photos.
