It might not feel like Fall, but this Caramel Apple Cider Float certainly tastes like it! Plus, it’s a nice cool down treat that we’ve been enjoying on these hot fall nights. Real Apple Cider mixed with Zevia’s Ginger Ale makes a pretty tasty combo! Zevia is a naturally zero calorie soda (sweetened with stevia) with 15 flavors, all of which are color-free and non-GMO. Pair these two with a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream and top it with a drizzle of caramel sauce and a sprinkle of nutmeg! And there you have a great Fall drink (dessert!) that’ll still help you beat the heat until our ‘real Fall’ arrives! Hope you all enjoy these as much as we do!
Ingredients:
3/4 cup Zevia ginger ale
3/4 cup apple cider
2 scoops vanilla ice cream
Caramel sauce
Nutmeg and/or cinnamon
Directions:
Combine Zevia Ginger Ale and Apple Cider in a glass (or mug). Drop in 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream. Top with caramel sauce, nutmeg and cinnamon!
Happy one year to Cru! It feels like this year flew by in the blink of an eye. But on the same hand, it’s hard to remember life without this sweet boy. What a blessing he has been to our family! First birthday’s are always a little bitter sweet for me. Coming to grips with the fact that my baby is growing up. Time passes by too quickly and I wish I could just press pause sometimes and savor each season of life a bit more. But on and on it goes. Cru is a true mama’s boy….which I am enjoying to the fullest since Ry has always been my independent one. To feel needed by him is to feel loved, and I’ll never ever deny those extra snuggles as long as he is wanting them! He’s so easy going and you don’t have to work hard at all to get him to smile. I love that about him. Everywhere we go, he makes people smile. Cru has a mighty healthy appetite as well, which has turned into the running joke of our family. He can eat more than his sister most of the time and he is just half the size. But even though we laugh about his “chunk” (Rylee still calls him Bubba), I know that one day, I’ll be really sad when I have to see all those baby rolls disappear! We decided to throw him a ‘Wild Thing” themed first birthday party, because despite his easy going demeanor 90% of the time, this boy does have a wild streak and a quick temper which brings out what we call his “monster growls”. Sounds I have only heard come from Cru! We celebrated with close friends and family in a park near our home. I feel so blessed with the amount of love that surrounds our son. He doesn’t know how good he’s got it yet, but I know one day he will. Happy Birthday Cru, we love you more than you can imagine! And thank you to my dear friend Jackie for capturing his special day!
5 out of 7 days of the week you’ll probably find me wearing black and white. I’ve been trying to simplify my closet and de-clutter lately. Every year I go through a phase where I feel like collectively as a family, we just have too much “stuff”. And for me, that mostly means clothes ;) But with two kiddos, toys are giving clothes a run for their money! My rule is that if I haven’t worn something in my closet for over a year, it’s probably something I don’t need. People usually do a Spring cleaning, but I guess my itch to purge is coming just a little late. (closet sale coming soon btw!) This top by Alli K is one of my favorite white blouses (in my ‘keep’ pile of course). I don’t think you can ever outwear a good white blouse. I love the length and the layered look of this piece, and it’s one of those great transitional pieces that I can dress up or down.
I chatted a couple months ago about how I create loose beachy waves in my hair using the XO Styling Iron by A Fashion Love Affair. Well, they’ve just come out with 2 new great liquid styling products to enhance this look: XO Styling Texturizing Spray and XO Styling Weightless Finishing Oil. My hair is stick straight, really fine and it doesn’t have much body. So the texturizing spray works wonders for me. Paired with the styling iron, it gives my hair the volume and texture that it lacks. A perfect balance of all-natural ingredients – Sea and Epsom Salts give amazing texture, Hazel Seed and Sunflower Seed Oil provide intense hydration, and Vitamin E and Oleic Acid stimulate healthy hair growth while providing UV protection.
The Weightless Finishing Oil is an every day treatment that helps to nourish your hair and protect against heat damage and UV Rays. It’s light enough for everyday use, unlike some of the other oils I’ve tried that have left my hair feeling greasy. The weightless oil smooths, softens, eliminates frizz, tames flyaways and seals hair cuticles.
