We love our Bugaboo Bee5! The weather has been so beautiful the last few nights (hello summer!), so we’ve got to enjoy some evening walks with the kids before winding them down for bed at night. Sam and I often grumble about the crazy high cost of living here on the coast in Encinitas…but on nights like this when we get outside and walk around our neighborhood we are always reminded how truly beautiful it is and how lucky we are to be here. I can’t really imagine being anywhere else. Our Bee5 is the perfect stroller for walks like this and any other urban environment for that matter. The compact chassis and a one-hand, one-piece fold makes it easy to hop into a taxi or out of a train, making it an easy choice for urban adventurers with a newborn or toddler. The front wheels have been redesigned to provide additional stability and swivel maneuverability and the padded seat reverses, reclines and extends in just a few clicks. And the very best part is that it’s completely customizable – from the color of your seat fabric to your bassinet and extendable sun canopy. The changeable grips and wheel caps mean there are even more opportunities to show your style. I chose the all black colorway – chassis, seat fabric, sun canopy and grips. I tend to identify as a minimalist and always gravitate to neutral colors – black, grey, nude and white. Not only in my baby gear but also in my wardrobe and most everything else! Black is an easy choice for me in a stroller because it’s classic and timeless and I know it will match with everything. But if you are more of a color lover, the Bee 5 has a ton of fun color options like soft pink, sky blue, sunrise yellow, olive green…and even some fun print options in the mix. I used to think the bigger the better when it came to strollers. But now as a mom to (almost!) three, I’ve come to realize the more compact and easy to lift and fold, the better. It’s hard enough to wrangle your kids and get them where you need to go…your stroller shouldn’t be another thing to wrangle! It’s hard to imagine in a few short months we will have three babies to care for! I am so excited and a little nervous at the same time. But God doesn’t ever give us more than we can handle, so we are ready for this next chapter. We’ve been busy most weekends working on house projects. We totally re-did our kitchen and living room and we moved the kids into the same room and got them bunk beds. And then we are totally redesigning a new nursery for the babe. Nurseries are my favorite and I know this is the last chance I’ll get to design one, so I’m making it count. I have a feeling I will be working on it right up until she arrives…..but it’s a project I enjoy so it’s worth the effort! (my husband might disagree, haha). Can’t wait to share all the updates with you guys!

The weeks are just flying by and I’ve already found myself at 27 weeks! Third trimester is just around the corner and I’m pretty dang happy about that! haha. This babe has for sure been the hardest on my body and I’m already looking forward to getting my ankles back and ditching all the aches and pains I’ve been having. Because of my auto immune condition, they pay a little more attention to me during pregnancy and I have to go back to a neonatal specialist at 30 weeks to check on her growth. At 20 weeks, she looked healthy and measured a few days big actually, so I have a lot of confidence all is well in there! :) Anyway, I’ve found myself extra emotional this past week, fully coming to grips that we will have THREE children in just a few months. I think the reality of that is finally hitting me, and I am trying to soak up the one on one time with my kids, especially Cru…. being my “baby” for just 13 more weeks. Feeling all the feels! Anyway, enough pregnancy talk….we snapped these images the other day at one of our favorite walking trails. Minnetonka moccasins have been around our family for generations, so it’s safe to say I have a bit of an emotional connection to them. My grandma is from Wisconsin and growing up I remember her wearing them…my mom wore them, and now I wear them too! I love the classic slip on moccasin because they are so comfortable and easy to wear. Especially right now when the last thing I want to do is wear shoes that I have to buckle or tie! I can just slip these on and run out the door. Rylee is wearing the matching kids version (called the Kilty). She is still obsessed with matching with me so I am still fully enjoying that while it lasts! I’m sure someday soon that will be very not cool for her, so c’est la vie! I am running a giveaway today through Mother’s Day weekend (Monday) on my instagram for $100 credit to minnetonkamoccasin.com so that you and your mini can get some new shoes too!! So head to my page (@kelli_murray) to enter! I also have to make mention of this insane Humble Hilo carry-all bag that I am totally in love with! It makes for an awesome diaper bag or vacation bag! Ok friends, enjoy your weekend and Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas :)
We had the chance to sneak away last week for some much needed family time in one of our favorite places, Palm Springs. A little bit of desert sun and relaxation was definitely calling our name! I’ve realized as the years go by, I really do have to be so intentional about planning times like this with my family. Whether it be an actual family vacation or just a one-on-one date with each of my kids or my husband, it’s so important to have that time with them. It’s so easy to get wrapped up at work and the busyness of life that without realizing it, months have passed us by without planning for that one-on-one time. Anyway, this vacation was just what the doctor ordered. My parents even came along which made it extra special. The kids are pretty obsessed with them so it was a good time for everyone.
I’ve gotten way better about packing for trips like this. MINIMALISM – it’s my 2017 motto. I used to over pack and stress out about not having enough for the kids so I would bring way more than what was necessary (for both them and myself). But I’ve realized less is honestly more, especially when you know you will be in a bathing suit 80% of the time and the place you’re staying at has a washer and dryer on site. (We rented the PS Hangout house by the way and it was amazing!) The one thing I knew for sure to bring was our new Bugaboo Bee5 stroller. It’s light and compact and so easy to travel with. I’ve owned a number of strollers over the years and this one is definitely the lightest I’ve ever had. Which definitely comes as a bonus when you are 6 months pregnant and not bending the way you used to. This stroller was designed with the urban mom in mind, and although I’m not riding trains or taxi’s all that often, it is definitely nice to have a stroller that is easy to pick up, open and close and maneuver around tight spaces. I chose an all-black version (so typical), but it can also be customized with a number of colors and accessories that reflect your own personal style. I love all of the accessories available to Bugaboo Bee5 stroller like the cupholder, food tray, iPhone holder, and transport bag. I also got the bassinet for baby girl that will be here before we know it!! Eek! I just did the math with Sam and we’ve got just 14 more weeks! We are struggling with a name so if you have some ideas, I am all ears! This pregnancy is flying by and that is definitely not a complaint. I can’t say I love being pregnant, I actually kind of hate it, but I know the end result is worth every second of nausea, aches and pains…. so August, you can come as soon as you want this year ;)
