Crown  – DIY //  Top – Anthropologie (similar) //  Pants – 7 for all mankind (similar)  //  Shoes – Steve Madden

Remember back in April when I shared this DIY flower crown? ( I can’t believe it was that long ago!) Well, alas I am sharing the photos I took wearing it! The last and final series of our pastel shoot with JOIELALA.  It’s my fave! But I’m a sucker for flower crowns and pretty light.  If I could wear a flower crown every day I would.  Well I guess I COULD….but let’s be real.  Somedays I don’t even get out of my pajamas.  Yes, it’s true.  Rylee and I both. haha.  Actually, today is one of those days.  I am feeling a little under the weather…so soup and PJ’s and Teen Mom re-runs it is.  I used to not mind sick days (unless it was a REALLY sick day) because it’s kind of nice to have an excuse to rest.  But now as a mom, sick days are the worst because with an almost 1 year old on my hands….rest is just not an option.  How do you moms do it!?  Anyway, we’re hanging in there!

And guess what……best news ever…..I FOUND MY CAMERA!!!! Well, I didn’t, Hertz Rental Car in Minneapolis did.  They called this morning and I just about fainted in excitement.  I was almost 100% sure we didin’t have it in the car with us when we were traveling home, but I am so glad I was wrong! All that moping around for nothing! ;)  I really thought it was a goner.  Thanks to all of you who emailed and sent me helpful links to try to track it down.  Ya’ll are the sweetest!

I am working on a pretty flower crown girl illustration now, so I’ll be sharing that with you soon. xo.

So I know it’s summer….but I still have more photos to share from our Spring inspired shoot with Joielala! But I suppose Spring and Summer blend right into each other as far as style is concerned.  This is the fourth in our series…and the 5th and final (and my fave) is still to come.  These yellow shorts have become a staple of mine with the increasing summer heat.  I LOVE the heat.  But mostly the heat paired with the ocean breeze. Nothing beats it.  What are some of your summer staples?

I am getting super excited because this weekend Sam and I get to pack our bags and head to Wisconsin for the Fourth of July.  It will be our first vacation on a plane together as a family! (remember I went to Wisconsin alone with Rylee a few months ago to attend my grandpa’s funeral).  I’m looking forward to spending time with Sam’s family and enjoying the northwoods! I love it there.  I’ll be sure to take lot and lots of pics! duh.  I have some posts scheduled for the week or so I am away….so I’m sure you won’t miss me too much. haha. TGIF!! Enjoy your weekend.

OH…while I’m gone, I’d love to blog hop a bit.  If you’re a reader and have a blog….comment below and link to your blog! I’d love to meet ya! xo.

How was your Father’s day yesterday!!?  It was our first time celebrating Sam as a daddy, so that was pretty fun!  We barbequed at my dad’s, hung out with family, and laughed pretty hard at all of Rylee’s new antics.  She is developing quite the personality!  It’s still weird to us to be included in Mother’s Day and Father’s Day….because it’s so normal to just honor our own parents on those holidays.  But now I guess we qualify too! haha. Sometimes I feel so much younger than I am (anyone with me!? ha!)  Anyway, I am so thankful for my dad and his unconditional love, support, and encouragement in my life.  All my life he has been a strength I can rely on and I have never doubted his love for me. I am who I am today because of the way he raised me, and I’m so lucky to call him dad.  And now, to see Sam take on the role of father to his own baby girl, melts my heart into a big puddle on the floor!  I am SO incredibly thankful for him….for the husband he is to me, and the father he is to Rylee.  It’s the best thing in the world to watch him love her.  To see his face light up when he see’s her, to watch him rock her to sleep, to hear them laughing uncontrollably together downstairs. Life with these two (and hopefully a few others) will be a pretty darn good one.

I didn’t mean to gush all over the place!  Back to the photos at hand.  Peach and collars….2 of my favorite things.  These photos are the third series in our Spring Inspired shoot with JOIELALA.  It’s no secret i’m a fan of peach.  So this skirt falls into my top ten closet go-to’s (it’s no longer available but this one is kind of like it).  I paired it with a simple ivory blouse, collar necklace, and suede heels. Easy breezy.

Happy Monday.  What are you all working on this week?

Knit Tank & Rings – c/o WILDFOX // Shoes – H&M // Flower Crown – Handmade

Remember THIS POST a few weeks ago?  Well this is the second in the series of our Spring inspired shoot with JOIELALA.

If you haven’t already noticed, I’m a big fan of Wildfox, and an even bigger fan of Kimberley Gordon.  I pretty much love anything she touches.  I mean, have you seen her artwork!?  Needless to say, I was pretty excited when this top and ring set came in the mail for me.  The sweater knit tank is my fave.  Perfect for the warmer days ahead.  I really want this one too!  Did you know that Wildfox and Shopbop are hosting a design-a-tee contest? Winner gets a $500 shopbop.com gift card.  Yes, please.  I’m totally entering.

Hope you all had a great weekend.  We got a new couch and re-painted our living room!  I get this itch to re-design far too often.  It is a dangerous habit!  But one that the husband controls well. I’d be a mess without him!  Happy Monday!

So I am really excited to finally be sharing these photos with you today!  I teamed up again with Taryn and Shelby of JOIELALA to create a spring inspired lookbook.  And this is the first of the series! I really can’t get over how good those girls are!  Yeesh!  All the photos are just so dreamy.  Their play on light is what always gets me.  I wish I knew how to use a camera this way! Haha.  I’ve been saying that forever.  But I guess I am just glad I have talented friends to collaborate with! …..more to come!

What I’m wearing:

Crocheted Top by Free People / Re-constructed silk dress (from mom’s closet!) / Ecote T-Strap Wedge from Urban Outfitters / H&M bracelet

Rylee and I leave today to head to Wisconsin to attend my grandfathers funeral and to spend some time in the north woods with my grandma.  For those of you who have sent encouraging notes and emails….thank you so much!  I truly appreciate it.  I hope our time there can be a celebration of his amazing life.  Tears, no doubt, but I am so happy he is home.  As hard as it is to say goodbye, we all know he is in a better place now.  It will be Rylee’s first time on a plane…and away from daddy….so we will see how that goes!  She is a little trooper so I’m sure we will be fine!   I have some wonderful bloggers who will be filling in here while I am away!  So lots of fun stuff coming up!  Enjoy!  I will “see you” soon.
